I wouldn't run the S+S 585 without head work and a compression bump. 570's run well in 103's with mild head work and some compression. Yes maybe EPA friendly - however you won't see many cams producing the same amount of low-end torque - very bagger friendly.

Look at a TW6-6 or a Andrews 37 or even the 54.

It works well in a bagger that doesn't need to make a lot of power above 4500. The HP is more like the 585, but with a little bias for the small intake valve. Stock heads, compression, v&h slip ons, will get power commander for a tune. I ride solo 90% of the time. I ride relaxed most of the time but not afraid to open it up and have fun.

For low-end torque, you need low-end compression, and to get that you need your intake valves to close fairly early.
