WebFeb 21, 2011 · ryan1234. I am new to the forum and am looking for some help. I have a sportsman 700 EFI. I believe its a 06-07. It will not rev above 5000 rpm even at full throttle. Almost like its in some kind of limp mode. Every once and a while it will get half second blips of power and then at one point during the day i had full power for about 2 minutes.

But the throttle plate is connected to the throttle cable so what seems to be happening is that the injectors are prematurely going to full fuel delivery. After pulling the bed and looking at it, it appeared 1 muffler was warm and the other was very hot, so I suspect 1 cylinder isn’t firing quite right. I pulled the plug from that cylinder and it appeared to have either carbon or dirt on it, reinstalled and had same issue.
