There's a lot of story stuff that is revealed in Route B (during the parts of the game when 2B and 9S are separated) which are needed in order to understand stuff that happens in Route C. WebThat being said, original nier and drakengard 1 are a bit of a nuisance to play through from a gameplay perspective but they have really good characters and story just like automata so if you can't get into the gameplay for them to play them on your own, at least watch a playthrough or something of them sometime.
